CORE PROGRAM
TRAINING, EDUCATION, & DEVELOPMENT

KLMA Philippines provides training, education and development programs aligned with the KLMA Training Matrix developed by the "K" Line Marine Human Resource Group (KLMHRG) - Seafarers Policy Team (SPT) for the "K" Line Global Education System.
Moreover, the training, education and development programs are compliant with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STWC), International Maritime Organization (IMO), Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (Class NK) regulatory and standard requirements.
Aside from "K" Line's emphasis on the actual use of standard engine machineries and navigational equipment, KLMA Philippines also takes pride on some of its state-of-the-art training facilities including:
Kawasaki-MAN B&W S50MC-C Main Diesel Engine, housed in a 4-storey equivalent building. This one of its kind training facility is intended to provide marine engineers with practical hands-on training which will ensure their abilities to safely maintain and operate the engine at all times.
Main Engine Pneumatic Control Maneuvering Simulator, an electro-pneumatic control system that replicates the M/E maneuvering control system installed onboard ships. The simulator recreates real troubles of a main engine maneuvering control system as a result, provides marine engineers with practical hands on training experience on troubleshooting and repair.

Full Mission Engine Simulator, a software enabled simulator that replicates the ship engine room plant.
Engine Simulator Work Station, also a software enabled simulator that replicates different machineries of a ship engine room. The facility is intended to provide engine officers and ratings hands on experience on conducting engineering operation, maintenance and watch keeping.
Daihatsu 6DE-18 Diesel Engine, one of the current engine model in its series and compliant to the requirements of MARPOL Annex VI Tier II. This equipment will provide Marine Engineers a hands on experience in the dismantling and assembling of different engine parts which will ensure their abilities to maintain and operate this type of engine.
Mitsubishi Oil Purifier SJ-306, one of the latest model of Mitsubishi Kakoki Kaisha. It is equipped with an automatic control unit that will facilitate the adjustment of the different settings of the control system in real time. This equipment will provide Marine Engineers a hands on experience in the dismantling and assembling of different engine parts which will ensure their abilities to maintain and operate this type of oil purifier.
TRANSAS High Voltage Training Breaker, a high voltage training solution developed by TRANSAS for Marine Engineers. A real hardware high voltage generator breaker cabinet developed by TRANSAS in partnership with power technology specialist; ABB. This equipment will provide Marine Engineers a hands on experience on the high voltage switchboard operation, use of high voltage test equipment and isolation of breakers in ship's electrical system which will ensure their capability to handle high voltage electrical system.
Full Mission Bridge Simulator, a system composed of a cutting edge software and hardware that mimics the actual bridge of a ship to be able to provide realistic navigational experience and environment during actual navigation.
(4) JRC ECDIS Training Kit comes in proprietary software installed on computers which will provide hands-on exposure to trainees on JRC ECDIS System.
(4) Mini Bridge Simulator System consisting of a RADAR, ECDIS, Conning display and 3 large screen LED monitor to provide high quality visual.
Boiler Combustion Control Simulator, a replica of an actual boiler combustion control system onboard ships.

KLMA Philippines lecture and laboratory rooms are equipped with multimedia equipment. All lecture rooms are Wi-Fi enabled which allows instructors to access the Company's Training Database from any classroom.
The company's library is equipped with up-to-date reference materials not only on technical subjects but also on management, social and behavioral matters.
Moreover, KLMA Philippines is the partner training center of International Mariners Management Association of Japan (IMMAJ) - Philippine Japan Manning Consultative Council (PJMCC) Foundation Inc. (FINC) and custodian of its M.E. Engine Control Simulator. To add, KLMA Philippines is the first training center authorized by IMMAJ-PJMCC Foundation Inc. to design and develop its simulator based M.E. Engine Control and Main Diesel Overhaul Training using actual Kawasaki-MAN B&W S50 MC-C Main Diesel Engine.
Further, KLMA Philippines is accredited and authorized by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) to issue Certificate of Competencies on Japanese Maritime Law to licensed Deck and Engine officers. KLMA Philippines is also authorized to conduct lecture on Japanese Cooking License Course. Those who successfully pass the examination shall be issued a Japanese license equivalent to their Philippine License by the Japanese MLIT, giving them a privilege to be assigned onboard Japanese registered vessels.
KLMA Philippines is accredited by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) for the following IMO Model Courses:
1. GOC for GMDSS (IMO MC 1.25)
2. Ship SecurityfO cer Course (IMO MC 3.19)
3. Ship Security Awareness Training and Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (IMO MC 3.26 + 3.27)
4. Ratings Forming Part of a Watch in a Manned Engine Room
Moreover, KLMA Philippines is an accredited TESDA training & assessment center for NC I (Ship's Catering) and NC III (Ships' Cook). This guarantees that "K" Line Galley Ratings competency acquisition is compliant with MLC 2006. Likewise, KLMA Philippines facilitates assessment of competencies and issuance of the National Competencies (NC) certification.
Additionally, with KLMA Philippines' commitment to quality service/training, BRM/BTM Training Course has been certified compliant to the IMO model course 1.22 standards by Class NK-MET, Japan.
In partnership with "K" Line SPT, KLMA Philippines developed course programs for "K" Line chartered vessel seafarers namely Enhanced Safety Operation Course (ESOC) and Engine Room Safety Operation Course (ERSOC). The programs' aim is to ensure that seafarers on board "K" Line chartered vessels are provided with top-notch competencies to safely operate their vessels.
